Congratulations to our 2023 Year 12 cohort for the commitment they have shown to their studies and the excellent results they have achieved in their (ATAR) outcomes, their senior subjects and their certificate courses. We are very proud of their accomplishments and the mature learning habits underpinning them.
As always, we are delighted to share with you a snapshot summary of our 2023 Year 12 student outcomes. They were a cohort defined by their character of commitment and curiosity to learn and succeed through well-developed learning habits throughout their secondary education. They had their focus on the horizon and were mindful of what was required to access their future pathway. Our students are to be congratulated for the commitment they have shown to their studies and the excellent results they have achieved in their Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) outcomes, their senior subjects, and their certificate courses. Our sincerest congratulations go to our Year 12 students for their outstanding results:
- 54% scored an ATAR of 90 and above, placing them in the top 10% of the state
- 19% achieved an ATAR of 95 or above, placing them in the top 5% of the state
- 2% of our eligible students achieved an ATAR of 99 and above, an outstanding accomplishment placing them in the top 1% of the state
- The median ATAR for our students was 91.00
In addition, congratulations are extended to the seven students, Mia A, Aydin C, Regan C, Thomas D, Ohanna S, Sarah S, Bella W who achieved A grades in all six of their general subjects. These students will be awarded a Certificate of Academic Commendation by the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) in January.
Once again, these results place 91¸£Àû among the top-performing academic schools in Queensland and are a credit to the hard work and steadfast commitment of our graduating class.
91¸£Àû would also like to acknowledge and congratulate the 16 students from our Year 12 cohort who secured an early offer for their first preference course at university. The institutions our students received these early offers from include QUT, ACU, USC, and ADFA.
We are proud to recognise that each Year 12 student leaves 91¸£Àû with a qualification. To support the student’s post-schooling educational pathways and employment opportunities, either casual, part-time, or full-time it is beneficial for a student to add value to their pathway options regardless of their post-schooling destination. The evidence belowindicates that students are increasingly desiring additional qualifications to prepare them for beyond the gates of the College.
- 100% of the senior cohort secured a QCE
- The cohort attained 52 certificates
- 33 students received a certificate as part of their senior studies (61% of students received a Certificate II and above)
- 11 of these students attained more than 1 certificate
- 4 was the maximum number of certificates attained by 1 student
- 7 Certificate IV
- 19 Certificate III
- 25 Certificate II
- Certificate areas included; Active Volunteering, Fitness, Business, Furniture Making Pathways, Justice Studies, Music, Health Support Services, Health Services Assistant, Automotive Electrical Technology.
At this time, we acknowledge our integral partnership with parents and carers and thank you for the invaluable role you have played in supporting your young adult through their years of schooling. Also, our gratitude is extended to the dedicated teaching staff who have educated, inspired, engaged, and challenged our graduating class to achieve their best throughout their TLC journey.
Notwithstanding their commendable academic results, it is also important to recognise the many skills, aptitudes, character, and qualities of the Seniors of 2023 that are not defined by a number. We thank our graduating cohort for their contributions to our community and leadership during their time at TLC. As a College, we are affirmed that the teaching and learning culture at the College, along with our connected community, supports outcomes and opportunities for all of our graduates.
As this formative stage of their lives ends, we wish them well knowing that they are prepared for the next chapter in their journey.
We wish all members of the Seniors of 2023 a healthy life filled with people who support their goals and love them, and that they have purpose and meaning in their life as they move forward.
